Silky Terrier

Silky Terrier Breed Standards
The Silky is a native of Australia. Unlike most Australian breeds the Silky was not confined to only the country dwellings where they were working dogs, but the urban familys enjoyed their company as pets. The Silky was developed by crossing the Australian Terrier with the Yorkshire. Thus the yorkie look in a slightly bigger size. They are classified in the toy group, but should not be bred too small. They should be 9 to 10 inches tall and weigh between 8-10 pounds. Should have a straight, fine, silky hair coat. Quite pleasing to the touch. I really like this breed as they are outgoing and hardy. We raise yorkies, but I gotta tell you, I personally prefer the bigger size of the Silky. They are more affordable as well. It's a win win situation.

Yorkshire Terrier

Yorkshire Terrier Breed Standards
The Yorkie traces to the Waterside Terrier, a small longish-coated dog, bluish-gray in color, weighing between 6 and 20 pounds. A breed common in Yorkshire since early times, the Waterside Terrier--crossed with the old rough-coated Black and Tan English Terrier and with the Paisley and Clydesdale Terriers--was brought to Yorkshire by the Scotch weavers who migrated from Scotland to England in the middle of the nineteenth century. All these breeds were bred together to make what is now known as the Yorkshire Terrier. They should not weigh more than 7 pounds. They are one of the most popular dogs. I think they are the #1 most registered dog with AKC now.

Teddy Bear or Zuchon

Teddy Bear or Zuchon Breed Standards
The Zuchon is the result of crossing the Shih Tzu with Bichon Frise. I am not going to list all the crosses we make seperately, but there are 3 that I do a lot of and would like to list them seperate. This nicknamed cross "Teddy Bear" is my favorite. I think these are the cutest and cuddliest little pups, and they come in a variety of colors, usually in the Parti color pattern. Their haircoat is as fluffy as they come.

Lhasa-Poo

Lhasa-Poo Breed Standards
The Lhasa-Poo is a cross between the Lhasa Apso and the Poodle. You never know what colors will come along with this cross, but they are always pretty. The poodle brings the size of the Lhasa down some and usually puts a wave or curl in the hair.
